A not-for-profit institution, the CGTI is an OSCIP (Brazilian acronym for Organization of Civil Society of Public Interest) recognized by the Ministry of Justice of the Federal Government acting in a number of different sectors, in promoting and creating viability for national development, making ideas and projects into reality that solve problems and drive knowledge by undertaking research, studies, projects, tests, process development, courses, training and management.

In 2005, the institution joined the professional CGTI linked to sports and with acknowledged competence and in 2008, established an in-house Education Superintendence.
